The eagerly awaited File 2 of The Pea Files is here! This time we focus on the story of the mighty six wheel pea harvester first introduced in 1989 by FMC and built in Fakenham, Norfolk. But the story starts long before then and using archive footage and stills we trace the evolution from the FMC H2 trailed machine that introduced five beater planetary threshing through the first self-propelled FMC models to show how the scene was set for the FMC 979 six wheeled monster of 1989.

Over the next two decades the original 979 design evolved considerably and this forms the second part of the story as we look at the 979AT and 979CT. Finally the latest generation is represented by the PMC 989 and the brand new PMC 1089 harvesters.

Presented by Stephen Richmond from the driving seat of a 1089; this unique programme features never before seen archive footage and photographs as well as superb modern footage that brings the story truly alive.
