Remembering The National Grassland Demonstration

Part One - Mowers, Rakes and Choppers

Sixty years ago, in 1964, the first National Grassland Demonstration was held by RASE at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire. Since then, every three years, this event was held sowcasing the very latest in grassland machinery as well as the altest tractors, all working on the same selection of fields that were sown with grass specially for the event. The last such demonstyration was held in 2017 and this popular institution finally came to an end.

Using our own footage of the event over the years since 1999 togetehr with archive film supplied by a number of individuals and also still photographs going back to the early 1980s, this series of DVDs brings back the Grassland event in all its glory. 

Part One begins the story and looks at the mowers and rakes that were demonstrated over the decades as well as trailed forage harvesters up to 1996. In s doing, we witness the development of these machines and also the tractors begin used on them
