The story of the Ford tractor in words and pictures from its inception in 1917 right up to the last to bear the name in the late 1990s.
The Ford Motor Company was a prolific producer of agricultural tractors which were produced under the Fordson name from 1917 to 1964 before becoming simpy 'Ford'. This book traces the history of these tractors from the MOM of 1917 through the Model F and N to the E27N and the New Major family. From there it is on to the 6X range of 1964 and the successive developments of this series including the 10 Series first seen in 1981. The American models of the 1930s, 40s and 50s are also covered as are the TW and FW ranges and the very last 30, 40 and 70 Series tractors.
This concise book gives a general overview of the tractors produced by the Ford Motor Company and how they developed as well as how technology changed during the course of nine decades of agricutlural tractor manufacture.
